The Animal Science Monitor Autumn Jobs Issue

Most readers know that the Monitor is brought to you by
two recruiters in the animal sciences, Dan Simmons & Don Hunter and
the job board AnimalScienceJobs.com.
Two or three times each year we try to make the Monitor pay its’ way by
producing referrals for us, we do this via the special jobs issues.The
ASM will soon be 5 years old. In the first issue of the ASM we posted a
job for a Dairy Nutrition Manager. We were contacted by Dave, a
wonderfully qualified candidate who lived 15 minutes from this job. He
joined the company, is still happy in his job and has since been

Regional Sales Manager

Location: Northeast Iowa/Southwest Wisconsin

Compensation: $80,000 – $95,000 plus $20,000 bonus potential

Dairy Sales & Support Rep

Location: Milwaukee, WI;

Compensation: $45,000 -$60,000

Major international organization seeks
a Key Account Manager to market products to the dairy industry. This
person will market and support the sales of silage inoculants and
direct-fed microbials throughout the USA. This role requires extensive
travel.

The responsibilities included in this role include

  • Product sales to regional feed mills and national distribution companies.
  • Troubleshoot perceived silage
    problems with producers and dealers via on-farm visits and telephone
    calls as part of the technical sales and support program for silage
    inoculants.
  • Stand up presentations to dairy producers and dealers
  • Contribute to the development of business strategy for your territory, region and national business

you live near in suburban Milwaukee. Candidates must be willing and
able to travel overnight 50-60%. This position requires a person with
great energy, enthusiasm and creativity along with the presentation of
a professional image. PC, computer spreadsheet and presentation
programs (Microsoft word, excel and PowerPoint), as well as strong
organizational, verbal and written communications skills are required.

Technical Services Veterinarian (DVM Northeast & Midwest)

Location:  NE& Midwest Region

Compensation:  $80,000 – $110,000 

Provide in-house technical expertise,
ongoing staff education, and quality assurance of pharmacovigilance
activities. Additionally, this position will be responsible for
escalated technical and/or pharmacovigilance consultation calls. Assist
in the recommendations related to diagnostic work-up, treatment regimen
and resolution of reported adverse events with products, client and
clinic complaints, and perceived product inefficacy.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:

  • The position requires a Doctor of
    Veterinary Medicine degree and a minimum of five years of clinical
    practice experience, or its equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years industry experience and/or related business experience is desired.
  • Must have a sound understanding of Companion Animal veterinary medicine and practice. Equine and livestock experience helpful.
  • Requires strong organizational
    and communicative skills and the ability to interact with top
    management personnel, as well as the communicative skills to work with
    veterinary practitioners and pet owners is essential.

Swine Farm Manager

Location: Western Ohio

Compensation: $45,000 – $60,000

manage a 2400 head commercial sow unit. This growing company is

Overview

This is a highly responsible
production position conducting supervisory activities and related
functions as necessary. This position requires an extremely thorough
person, who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels. As

Beef Feed Sales Rep

Location: Abilene, TX

Compensation: $35,000 – $50,000

Regional animal feed company seeks
Beef Specialist to sell nutrition to beef ranches in Texas Panhandle. 
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Animal
Science and possess an understanding of ruminant nutrition.  This
person will have sales experience or sales aptitude (confident,
outgoing, assertive & great communications skills).  This person
will travel ranch-to-ranch selling feed or feed related products. 

We’re looking for a highly assertive self-starter who communicates well and likes to “Get ‘er Done”.

This is a SALES job, not a technical
support role.  In this role you will make sales calls to ranches and
once they are your customer, your job focus is to provide quality feed
and nutrition knowledge to help the ranchers be more profitable.  In
this role you sell on service, quality and knowledge, not price.
